JP Castillo was born in San Jose, Costa Rica. At the tender age of 8, his family moved to Los Angeles, California where he was exposed to an entirely new gamut of music. He would derive much inspiration from his parents, who are respected Latin Jazz musicians. With his mother being a singer, his father a drummer, and his uncle as the Concert Master of the Costa Rican National Symphony, JP grew up with a heavy daily dose of music. It was that immersion in those early years that molded him into a true artist. He soon followed in his parents footsteps and decided that his calling was in music. His musical journey began at church, which quickly turned into countless studio recordings and live concerts. JP then decided to study music in college. He excelled as one of the top students in the program, and soon realized he had a gift for captivating audiences. It wasn’t long before the industry also took notice. JP quickly acquired all the experience of a seasoned veteran, being featured on MTV's TRL, touring the world and entertaining thousands while working with Disney on various live stage productions. Additionally, JP has extensive experience in the studio as a singer, songwriter and percussionist. He’s worked with some of the industries top names including: J Lo, David Foster, Andrea Bocelli, Zack Efron, Juan Gabriel, Prince Royce and Jenny Rivera. Most recently JP joined the Unity Tour with the legendary group The Jacksons where he was featured on the classic song Heartbreak Hotel. “It’s a dream come true to work with artists I’ve admired and studied my whole life,” he recalls in regard to performing with The Jacksons at a sold out show in Japan. JP has had his songs featured on hit tv shows for VH1 and A&E. And even with all these accomplishments, this is only the beginning for JP Castillo. With a consistently growing fan base, talent, dedication and the “IT” factor, JP Castillo is ready to take his brand all over the world.
